The Love is the Goat movement is all about eliminating homelessness here in Atlanta and ultimately the US! We truly believe that this can be accomplished when the community is empowered to not only support local initiatives like Love is the Goat, but to also take action within their communities by better understanding how they can help their neighbors! It’s that simple.
How can I support Love is the Goat in ending homelessness here in Atlanta and bringing it to my community?
The best way to support Love is the Goat is to donate. You can also support us by purchasing merch to spread awareness as well as purchasing some of our favorite stuffs for the homeless to have on hand and distribute in your communities.
There are several ways to get started. You can start with a small bag of goodies (snacks, water, toiletries) that you keep in your car and give out to the homeless in your community. You can also stuff those same goodies into a sleeping bag that you keep in your car and give to the homeless when you have the opportunity - at the light, on your way into Walmart, etc… We have some awesome stuffs for the homeless in our merch shop to get you started! Check it out.
Finally, this is the heart of the movement and how we operate here at Love is the Goat. Choose a homeless person/family in your community and rally your crew together. This can be your family, friends, colleagues, etc… Rally everyone together and get that person a hotel room for as long as you can (use a prepaid card). During that time, connect them to resources like transitional housing, food, and clothing to name a few (use 211). Once they make it into a shelter/transitional housing and are on their way to getting on their feet, choose someone else!
